Ayesha Raza Farooq is the Chairperson of Pakistan’s National Commission on the Rights of Child (NCRC), where she leads national efforts on child protection and rights implementation. She is also currently the Prime Minister’s Focal Person for Polio Eradication, appointed to lead Pakistan’s national polio eradication campaign. She brings over a decade of legislative experience to her roles, having served as a Member of the National Assembly of Pakistan (2013–2015) and subsequently as a Senator (2015–2021), representing the Pakistan Muslim League (N).

During her time in the Senate, she chaired the Committee on Delegated Legislation and the Committee on Rules of Procedure and Privileges. She was awarded the Sitara-i-Imtiaz by the Government of Pakistan in 2018 in recognition of her work towards polio eradication.

Ayesha holds a Master of Business Administration from the Lahore University of Management Sciences (1995) and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of the Punjab (2013). She was awarded a gold medal for her LLB and was placed on the Dean’s Honor List for her MBA.

Usama Malik is a Barrister from the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn, UK, and Founding Director/Head of the Directorate of Legal Education (DLE), tasked with regulating legal education across Pakistan in compliance with the Supreme Court’s judgment in Pakistan Bar Council vs. Federation of Pakistan (2019 SCMR 389). He has revamped Pakistan’s legal education structure, aligning the LLB program with international best practices, drafting a new model national curriculum, and clamping down on substandard and ghost law colleges nationwide.

He previously served as Deputy Advisor at the Ministry of Law and Justice and as Focal Person of the Anti-Rape Special Statutory Committee constituted under Section 15 of the Anti-Rape Act, 2021. He holds an LLM in International Development Law and Human Rights from the University of Warwick and an LLB (Hons) from the University of London, and is an internationally accredited mediator (SIMI, Singapore) and certified Board Director (PICG).

He began his legal career with Mr. Aitzaz Ahsan and later worked as Senior Associate to Ms. Asma Jahangir, and was a Partner at the Lahore/Islamabad-based firm HCU & Hossein. He served as Chairperson of the International Legal Affairs Committee of the Lahore High Court Bar Association (2018–2021) and Chairperson of the Legal Education Committee (Lahore Division) of the Punjab Bar Council, and has taught Constitutional Law as visiting faculty at leading law schools.

His research has been published in the American Bar Association’s Human Rights Review, the University of Pennsylvania Law Review, and PLD, and he was invited by the Chief Justice of Pakistan to present on International Arbitration at the 8th Judicial Conference. He has represented Pakistan at the UNODC (2022) and at the Human Rights Defenders Forum in Atlanta on the invitation of former US President Jimmy Carter.
